So FIU is getting rid of certain majors. Majors which I have no respect for. These careers often lead to dead end jobs and people on the streets. Religion? Are you kidding me? I wouldn't care if Jesus himself came back to life and turned stones into diamonds in order to help with any course that doesn't deserve the time of day. This is a business school, a school of research, those subject never stood a chance. I don't mean to be harsh but its the truth. Things like this are happening everywhere but people can't find it in their hearts to help out. Rich, filthy people rather spend money on shiny little cars or mansions that extend over the borders of states.
Don't get me wrong I wish it didn't have to happen this way but there is simply nothing I could personally do about it. I have a hard enough time focusing on my own things. The marching band is is at number 128 on my list of priorities. Any musician that takes a time away from their busy tour schedules to help out a single school so they could have more competition in the business world, is an idiot. They have monopolized the music industry to the point that it is merely impossible to get past the barriers of fame.
The same goes theater students. How many of them will seriously make it to the next level? Like my parents have said before to any of these get rich quick careers, "one in a billion, one in a billion." So why supply them with this major when its not an investment for the school. That money could easily go towards something more productive like finding the cure to cancer. Creativity is not a job it is a hobby, something you do on your spare time. Don't waste money on something you could learn by watching or even the internet.
